Mindset

If our child tells us he or she "can't" do something, we smile and know that they just do not believe yet. So what has to happen to get them to believe in themselves? Perhaps we show them how they can, and their eyes go wide and bright, and they now have extended their limits and beliefs. The difficulty is getting them to at least try so that they can see this.

So I ask you at what age do we decide that "we can't" do something? At what age will we defend our we can't to the extent that we will not even try. We can give you all kinds of "reasons" why something cannot be achieved, yet if we put the same amount of energy and effort into trying.....

The real point here is to step away from yourself for a minute, and change your mindset to "ok if I was going to try this how can I make this possible". Be a child again with an open mind. Personal growth feels so good, yet most human animals do not allow it to happen very often, they prefer patterned behavior which protects their self imposed limitations.
